Luis Suarez wants Araujo to stay at Barcelona
Suarez believes that his compatriot defender can play an important role in Barca.
The Uruguayan star, who once played for Barcelona but is now an
Atletico Madridstriker, intends to convince his compatriot to stay at the Camp Nou next summer.
Araujo's contract with Barcelona expires in the summer of 2023, and negotiations between him and the club for an extension are ongoing. He has become one of the key players in his team during this period and Suarez intends to encourage him to continue his presence in Barcelona.
Suarez won several trophies during his six seasons at the Camp Nou, but left the team in the summer of 2020 to join Atletico and win La Liga with his new team.
The 23-year-old defender is an ambitious player like Suarez and has joined Barca's first team since the beginning of last season and has a good pair with Gerard Piqué in the Blaugrana defense. He is worth around 40 million euros and several clubs want to attract him.
