Wyss believes £3 billion demanding price for Chelsea is too high

The responsibility of selling the Blues has been handed to investment bank Raine Group by the owner of the club as the decision-making point is close.

Roman Abramovich

aims to sell

Chelsea

for £3 billion ($4bn) and it has frustrated the favorite buyers, like the US-Swiss billionaire consortium led by

Todd Boehly

and

Hansjorg Wyss

.

After Vladimir Putin ordered Russia to invade Ukraine, the Russian oligarch is seeing sanctions in the west.

Abramovich has been forced to sell the club and many are seeking the opportunity to purchase it.

The frontrunners are part-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Wyss and they plan to run things in a different way than Abramovich. They aim to turn the Blues into a more sustainable club, as Abramovich not being concerned about losing money on his first investment.

His investment is around £1.5bn ($2bn), which he is owed in loans; however, he stated that all Chelsea’s debt would be written off.

Abramovich plans to donate “all net proceeds from the sale” to a foundation that “will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine.”

His statement may also suggest that the money would go to the families of injured Russian soldiers but the details have yet to be revealed.

There is a concern that the Blues might not be sold easily if Abramovich get sanctioned by United Kingdom, European Union or United States governments.

The decision has shocked the players, staff and management team but they keep going as usual.
