Pellegrini on Mancini and Mourinho’s differences

The Italy international revealed that the Giallorossi players should change their attitude towards referees and he then talks about Roberto Mancini and Jose Mourinho’s differences.

Lorenzo Pellegrini

was going to be in Italy’s

Euro 2020

squad last summer but only days prior to the competition he was withdrawn due to a muscle injury.

He started the season on the right foot, having netted nine goals and contributed five assists in 22 games but since then he has been having a hard time with injuries and missed 14 matches because of his physical problems.

The upcoming months are crucial for the 25-year-old for both club and country.

Roma

are trying to end the

Serie A

season in the top four places. They also aim to win the Conference League, when Italy will have the World Cup playoffs in March.

He was asked about the differences between

Mancini

and Giallorossi manager

Mourinho

.

Mourinho transmits you something that, even if you don’t have it inside, always emerges, Mancini gives you tranquillity which allows taking more risks on the pitch,”

the Roma captain told

La Gazzetta dello Sport

.

“Mourinho is looking for more verticalization, while Mancini aims to keep the ball possession to control the game. I remember that once we were training in Coverciano. At one point, he stopped the exercise and I thought he would reproach us. On the contrary, he said: ‘Guys, you are so good. You must believe more in yourself.’ That’s what he does, he gives tranquillity.”

Roma players have appeared bad-tempered in the last couple of weeks as they have gotton 60 yellow cards and five red cards since the start of the season.

We must take a step back because there is no conspiracy against us,”

the Italy international admitted.

“Even I had the wrong attitude with referees sometimes. I hope some incidents like the one against Milan won’t happen again because everything should work smoothly with VAR. However, we must change our behaviour with match officials.”
