Mourinho caused economic damage by offending his players - Capello

The ex-Giallorossi boss slammed the Portuguese tactician saying that he ‘caused economic damage’ to the club by criticizing the players in public.

Jose Mourinho

is receiving a lot of criticism after

Roma

showed poor results this season. The Giallorossi only sealed a point in their battle against

Sassuolo

courtesy of a late equalizer from Bryan Cristante.

Roma are sitting seventh in the Serie A table, having gained 40 points from 25 matches and are six points adrift of the top four.

The Portuguese boss has hit out at his players in public in the last few weeks and Fabio Capello believes his behavior is not helping Roma on and off the pitch.

He played his last card by offending his players,”

Capello told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’ve never done it. I did criticise but tried to be respectful. I’ve always demanded and given respect. It’s the first rule I asked for: respect from everyone, players and staff members.

“If you offend players as Mourinho did, you create economic damage to the club and it’s something that must be taken into account.”

As per reports from

Il Corriere dello Sport

, Mourinho told that Roma players do not have a personality and ‘are without balls’ following their 2-0 defeat at the hands of

Inter

in Coppa Italia.

Paolo DI Canio has also hit out at the Roma boss as he had the same attitude during his time at Tottenham that did not pay off.
