Jota’s double secure the victory for the Reds

Liverpool defeats Leicester with Diogo Jota’s goals in the day that Salah returned to their squad.

On a night that

Liverpool

dominated the opposition

Diogo Jota’s

goals secured the victory for the Reds against

Leicester City

at Anfield as they were celebrating

Mohamed Salah’s

return after the AFCON.

Liverpool had lost the last three Premier League games against Leicester City, so this would be an important victory for

Jurgen Klopp’s

men.

In this clash, the Reds managed to put their opposition under pressure for most of the game, but it was Diogo Jota who made the difference in the match and scored two goals, which led to a 2-0 victory for his side.

The other important part of the game for the Reds supporters was

Luis Diaz’s

debut in the Premier League, who was then substituted by the manager and gave his place to the Reds’ high-profile Egyptian star who had just returned from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The home side opened the scoring in the 34th minute of the game in the rebound of

Virgil Van Dijk’s

header, which was blocked in the way, but it wasn’t enough for Klopp’s men as they doubled the lead when Diogo Jota found the net for the second time in the 87th minute of the game to seal the victory for the Reds.
