Benzema linked with a move to Ligue 1 amid shining in Real Madrid

According to reports, Karim Benzema draws transfer interest ahead of the summer transfer season.

Last season, the Frenchman was in top form, bringing together his finest scoring season to date.

Benzema's success has persisted into this season, with the Frenchman already having scored 24 goals in all competitions, putting him on track to break his own goal record.

As things are at the moment, the seasoned striker leads

LaLiga

in goals, and he might earn the

Pichichi

trophy if he can help Real Madrid win the championship.

Benzema, who is 34 years old, shows no signs of slowing down, aging gracefully.

But he's been recently linked back to France, with transfer analyst Fabio Gatto of

Mundo Deportivo

reporting that

Ligue 1

side

Lyon

have indicated a desire for the summer transfer window.

Benzema previously spent five years with Lyon, and it appears like he is set to rejoin them.

Even though he is still at the peak of his game, it is doubtful that he will return at this time, with a move closer to the conclusion of his current deal being more plausible.

Real Madrid's current contract with Benzema is slated to expire in the summer of 2023.
