The draw came in their opening clash against Guinea-Bissau, whereas the defeat was against Nigeria, who are sitting top of the group.
Notwithstanding their disappointing results so far, the Sudan national team have a chance to get a qualification. If they win against Egypt in the third clash of the group stage, they can earn a spot in the Round of 16.
In the post-match press conference,
Burhan Tia
insisted that they aim to win, urging his players to defeat
Egypt.

We respect Egypt, they have one of the strongest teams in the continent, but we will play to win,”
Tia said.
“Our team has a lot of high-quality players, this tournament is a great chance for them to present themselves, we have the motive to win.
“We will lose Salah Nimr’s services against Egypt, but we have ambitious players who will take the chance to prove their worth.
“Everything is possible in football, we might lose or tie, but we will play to win.
“I know Egypt national team players capabilities, but I trust my players and I believe they have what it takes to advance further in the tournament.”
