Liverpool will eliminate Inter from CL - Ian Rush

Inter and Liverpool will have an important match in the Champions League.





star Ian Rush believes the Reds will beat


in the Champions League, and also praised Thomas Tuchel after's dismissal of Romelu Lukaku for his controversial interview.

Inter, who have reached the Champions League group stage for the first time in ten years, will face Liverpool in their first step in the knockout stages. The first match will take place in Milan on February 16 and the second match will take place on March 3 in Anfield. Rush, who has played for Juventus and Liverpool, believes that Jurgen Klopp's side will eliminate Inter from the competition.

“Two great teams, two great histories, by the way, Liverpool are playing really well at the moment as a team,”

Liverpool legend said.

“Playing an Italian team is always difficult to score, but Liverpool have a front three that will score goals. It will be a difficult game, but I can see Liverpool coming out on top.”

Lukaku recently expressed his dissatisfaction with his situation at Chelsea in an interview, claiming that he intends to return to Inter. Following the interview, Thomas Tuchel decided to remove the Belgian striker from his squad for the match against Liverpool. Rush now praised the German coach for his bold decision.

“There’s no one bigger than the club, that’s what it is all about,”

 Rush added.

“The club comes first and I thought it was an excellent decision by him [Tuchel] to drop him. Lukaku will come back stronger and better. Lukaku has learned his lesson.

“If there are individuals that think they are better than the team, that creates problems but I think the coaches nailed it, it was an excellent choice from him.”
