Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico Madrid, believes he will accompany his team in the home sideline against Rayo Vallecano tomorrow night.

On December 30, the Argentinian boss, along with several first-team players, contracted the COVID-19.

Due to current self-isolation regulations, Simeone was initially unable to take part in the game at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, according to

La Liga

On the other hand, Simeone has verified that he has tested negative for the infection, and he may be allowed to confront their neighbors tomorrow night.

"The most important thing is health and I feel perfect", as per reports from

"Yesterday I took the test again (in lab conditions) and I gave a negative result.

"Today I repeated the test, with La Liga, and we are at waiting for the result to be with the team tomorrow."

Simeone may be missing six players for Andoni Iraola's in-form side's visit, with four senior-teamers awaiting PCR test results in the next 24 hours.

After testing positive for the COVID-19 and still recovering from a muscular injury, French star

Antoine Griezmann

seemed destined to miss out on the match.

On the other hand, Simeone is heartened by

Jose Gimenez

's return from injury, with the Uruguayan set to start against Rayo in Madrid.
