The Partenopei revealed that their star striker is not going to go back to Italy as his test for Covid-19 has turned out positive before going to Nigeria.

Victor Osimhen

has made it to the list of Nigeria’s squad for the

Africa Cup of Nations

but was going to return to Naples to check his cheekbone injury on Friday, December 31.

The striker is ruled out of action for three months, but if he had gotten the green light from doctors, he would have featured in the Africa Cup of Nations with a mask.

However, his swab test turned out positive so he couldn’t leave his country.

Napoli

announced on their

Twitter

that doctor Gianpaolo Tartaro, who did the surgery last month, is going to check the player tomorrow.

On their Italian account, nevertheless, they gave a different explanation as his check has been postponed and an isolation order has been issued for the 23-year-old by the Nigerian authorities.

Osimhen had Covid-19 last year and this is his second time.
