Simeone aims to personally improve as he reaches a decade with Atleti

Atletico Madrid were defeated in their last three La Liga matches and their boss is aware of the criticism coming his way.

Diego Simeone

is trying to bring back his best coaching spirit after

Atletico Madrid

failed to impress as he is reaching his one-decade-in-charge celebration.

Atletico were beaten 2-1 against

on Saturday and have been defeated three times in

La Liga

under Simeone’s charge for the first time before their battle against Granada.

The clash comes one day ahead of Simeone’s 10-year mark in charge of Atleti after replacing Gregorio Manzano.

Although Simone has had a successful period as Atletico Madrid’s boss, this season, he has been criticized heavily.

Before his side’s last outing of the year, Simeone promised to follow his principles to turn things back to the way they were.

Criticism is understandable and normal,"

he said at Tuesday's news conference previewing the Granada game.

"We're in a position with a lot of exposure.

"If you win everything then things are going well. I understand the situation. It's important to get back to repeating passages from when the team was performing well.

"I am always looking for ways to improve myself and this path will surely make me a better coach. That is what I hold on to. This club has known me now for 10 years.

"The players come to training knowing what I want. They know I am not going to change the line in which I believe."

Simeone has contributed to eight trophies, as well as a second La Liga title in the 2020-21 season, reaching two Champions League finals in the last 10 seasons with the club.

Wednesday’s clash against Granada, who have yet to beat Simeone’s side after 15 games, is a chance for them to turn things around.

Our focus is on Granada, a team with a clear that that has been performing well and with great intensity,"

Simeone said.

"It's clear our results have not been what we would have liked. It is also true that at other times we've won games we've probably not deserved to. Football gives and takes away.

"I trust my players and they are all working well. They have played good games, even if results have not indicated that. If there's something I have, it's patience."

Simone seemed unwilling to talk about whether

Luis Suarez

would play on Wednesday after he was frustrated for being substituted against Sevilla.

Suarez has not met the back of the net in his last seven appearances, which is his worst streak without a goal with Atletico and his former team Barcelona.

When quizzed about the player’s outburst when going off the field, Simeone said:

"I have nothing to say.

"Suarez is lethal when we are close to the opposition area. If we can get closer then he will be like he was last season."
