Tottenham – Leicester postponed due to COVID-19 outbreak

Thu 16 December 2021 | 14:02

The resurgence of coronavirus has once again hit the Premier League fixtures.

It was confirmed a few minutes ago that the Premier League clash between

Tottenham

and

Leicester

has been postponed, as 8 players and 5 members of the Spurs’ staff have tested positive for coronavirus. Leicester City had earlier requested the postponement of the game, which was rejected by the football association.

This is the third consecutive postponement for Tottenham, as their Europa Conference League match against Rennes and last weekend’s Premier League clash against

Brighton

were also postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Some sources have reported the outbreak in Chelsea’s camp and the positive tests of three of the Blues’ players.

Brentford also requested the suspension of all of the weekend’s fixtures, as some of the Premier League clubs are currently struggling with the outbreak of COVID-19 in their camps.
