Leicester City are receiving a lot of interest in their young centre-back as they get ready to cash in on some players.

are keen on acquiring the services of

Leicester City

Wesley Fofana

as they consider their transfer plans, with contract discussions with

Antonio Rudiger

Andreas Christensen

still going on.

The youngster has been dealing with a broken fibula and ankle ligament after a pre-season friendly clash with Villarreal. However, the 20-year-old is still among some of the best players in the world in his age group.

The Blues would rather sign him in the summer as they want to see how his injury turns out, with his return date being next month or so.

The Foxes would most likely put a huge price tag on their player, with his deal keeping him at the club until 2025.

The Blues are still keen on acquiring Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, having seen their summer offer turned down by the club.

The France international aimed to join the European Champions but they failed to meet his demanding price. Sevilla will not start any talks unless Chelsea offer them the player’s £68 million ($90m) release clause.

Another player who has been offered to the Blues for the summer transfer window is Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt, as the Bianconeri are looking for a chance to unload his salary.

Chelsea are focusing on defenders because they have not been successful in renewing their contracts with Rudiger or Christensen.

Real Madrid

are the favorites to sign Rudiger but Chelsea are more hopeful of retaining Christensen’s services, notwithstanding the negotiation problems.

Their contracts are due to reach their end in 2022, along with Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva’s deals.

Chelsea are also dealing with some injury concerns in midfield and at left wing-back before the winter transfer window. However, they would rather bring their injured players back than signing new players in January.

Ben Chilwell has sustained a partial tear in his anterior cruciate ligament and he is likely to return by mid-January.

Notwithstanding receiving loan interest from Serie A, the Blues will not let Malang Sarr depart until they are certain on whether Chilwell needs surgery.

Thomas Tuchel

is playing players out of position to make up for the injury-hit places, with Saul having played at wing-back as Marcos Alonso is the only one available on the left.

If Chelsea’s problems in midfield continue until January, they may decide to recall loanee Billy Gilmour from Norwich City.
