Former Barcelona man Mascherano as the Argentine U20 coach

The former Barcelona man is going to be the U20 Argentine national team’s new coach, as per reports from Hernan Castillo and Roy Nemer.

’s replacement at the U20 Argentine national team as Batista is headed to the Venezuelan national team.

Mascherano established himself as a great player in a glorious career. He was born in 1984 in San Lorenzo and it was at River Plate where he broke through before making a move to Corinthians. He had impressive spells with

in the Premier League before heading to


in 2010.

He featured for the Blaugrana for ten years, turning from a defensive midfielder to a centre-back. He contributed to five La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues, before playing for Hebei China Fortune. He hung up his boots last year. During those 15 years, he played in 147 matches for the Argentine national team.
