Queiroz replaced Ashour with Hegazi before FIFA Arab Cup

The Egyptian midfielder will miss the upcoming matches due to Covid-19.

 coach Carlos Queiroz has claimed that Ahmed Hegazi, the central defender of the Jeddah Alliance, will replace the Ashour Emam in the FIFA Arab Cup.

The Egyptian national team, led by Carlos Queiroz, will soon compete in the FIFA Arab Cup, and Ashour was among the 23 players selected by the Portuguese coach. They will travel to the tournament this week, but Ashour will not be able to accompany their team after testing positive for Covid-19.

Carlos Queiroz announced at his press conference this morning that Ashour will be left out of the team and will be replaced by Ahmed Hegazi. He plays in the Saudi professional league and is the only player on his team to play for a foreign team. He must play in his team's match against Al-Taee on Saturday, and then join Egypt.

The Arab Cup will be held between 22 Arab countries in Asia and Africa, with three newcomers, Comoros, Somalia and Djibouti. Egypt is in Group D, along with

Algeria

,

Lebanon

and Sudan.
