Pickford, Tottenham's first choice to replace Lloris

The England international will be close to joining Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

Tottenham

are gradually preparing for the post-Hugo Lloris era, and they have chosen

Everton

goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to replace their captain.

Lloris, who turns 35 in December, has entered the final months of his contract with Tottenham and although the short-term contract extension is not far off, the club is thinking about the future. Following the arrival of Antonio Conte, there have been many reports about the future Tottenham goalkeeper, and now the

Telegraph

claims that Pickford is the main option of the Spurs.

Conte would prefer to see the

England

goalkeeper join his squad next summer and start competing with or replacing Lloris. Conte is considered by many candidates, but Pickford, who has been England's top scorer since 2018, tops Conte's list.

Although Everton have no desire to sell Pickford, financial fair play has forced them to sell one of their stars. Pickford, who joined Everton from Sunderland in 2017 for 30 million euros, has a contract with the club until 2024, but there is no news of a contract extension at the moment, and his transfer price will probably exceed 30 million euros.
