Martinez revealed 'Hazard suffering hrough sad days'

Thu 18 November 2021 | 13:43

The Belgian star is far away from his golden days.

Belgium

coach Roberto Martinez claims that Eden Hazard is going through sad days.

Hazard, who joined

Real Madrid

from

Chelsea

in 2019 for a large sum, has performed very poorly during this period and has not been able to meet expectations. The 30-year-old star has suffered a number of injuries that have kept him out of good form. Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti does not trust him much and now Martinez claims that Hazard is going through difficult days.

"In the recent years, he has lived with it, but he has been concentrated on the national team,"

said Martinez.

"We need him to arrive at the World Cup prepared. We have grown as a dressing room.

"Eden is in a sad moment, football-wise. He has left winners projects [but] he doesn't have the rhythm of competition."

This season, in the 10 times Hazard has played for Real in La Liga, he has only been in the starting line-up four times and has played a total of 350 minutes. He only sent one assist to his teammates and did not score a goal.
