Milan boss thinks that time-outs can give him time to communicate with the players during the match.

Stefano Pioli

had a conversation with Virtus Bologna basketball coach, and the two coaches discussed some areas of the two sports, and the reporters were filming the event.

Pioli said that he would like football to have time-outs like basketball because he wants to communicate with his players more.

“I would like to communicate more with the players during games and I personally would introduce time-outs in football as well,”

said Pioli

“I’d be able to give more precise and specific instructions, whereas at half-time I try to combine technical and tactical adjustments with a little motivation to get the second half going the right way.

“I am also in favor of some sort of introduction for checking effective time played in a game, because too much time is wasted now.”

Milan’s manager also talked about the big names in his team, insisting that the normal players who think they are special are problematic for the team, and explained that the high-quality players are defined both on and off the pitch.

“When we are talking about champions, we mean they are champions off the field too. They are so competitive, so mentally strong that it’s not difficult to train them at all.

“They raise the bar and want their teammates to reach that standard too. The problem for a coach is when you find players who are normal and believe themselves something more.”
