Chiellini suffers from an inflated Achilles tendon

Thu 11 November 2021 | 15:03

The Bianconeri and Azzurri captain is suffering from an inflammation of the Achilles tendon.

The

Juventus

player went back to Turin to undergo further tests and the Bianconeri confirmed today that he is diagnosed with ‘inflammation of the muscle tendon junction of the left Achilles tendon. His condition will be monitored daily.’

Moise Kean

returned to full training with the squad, whereas Mattia De Sciglio is still having his physiotherapy treatment.

However, it has yet to be seen how long

Giorgio Chiellini

’s treatment will take since the Achilles tendon is delicate and should be rested between matches, with a possibility of the inflammation flaring up again, rather than a lesion or strain, which visibly heals.

Italy are also without Ciro Immobile, Nicolo Zaniolo and Lorenzo Pellegrini as they are struggling with injuries and cannot feature for their side in their World Cup qualifiers against Switzerland and Northern Ireland.
