The Argentine is dealing with a hamstring issue that prevents him from playing in his side's next Champions League game.

Lionel Messi has been left out of PSG's 21-man list for their upcoming Champions League battle against RB Leipzig. The Argentine superstar

picked up a knock

during PSG's 2-1 victory against Marseille last week. The club has now confirmed he will miss his side's next match.

"Leo Messi presents with hamstring discomfort on the left and knee pain following a contusion."

the club's

statement

reads.

The French giants have not provided an exact time for Messi's recovery. However, according to reports from French media, the former Barcelona star is likely to miss several games.

The injury will further delay Messi's integration into the PSG squad. The 34-year-old is yet to register his first goal or assist for the French side in Ligue 1, raising questions around his future at the club.

After their game against Leipzig, the Parisians will face

Bordeaux

in their next Ligue 1 game on Saturday. It remains to be seen whether Messi can recover in time for that game.
