Ancelotti prefers other players than Hazard

The Belgium international was sidelined on Sunday’s clash as his side won the game 2-1 against Barcelona in El Clasico.

Eden Hazard

can be a star at Los Blancos, but revealed he preferably puts other players in the starting XI.

The 30-year-old was not substituted in the game against Barcelona as his side won the battle 2-1 at Camp Nou.

The Belgium star has been in the starting XI of seven matches in La Liga and featured in just one of the three Champions League games.

Ancelotti knows the ex-Chelsea star is fit to be a starter for his side, but he would rather play others like Vinicius Junior.

He told reporters on Tuesday:

"He can play 4-3-3 on the left or 4-4-2 above or behind the striker. He is ready to play, but the problem is that there is a coach who prefers another player.

"He does not have a star status at Madrid because he has had many injuries and little by little he will have his best version.

"I am sure that this season we will see his best version and that he will play more than he is doing now.

"Hazard has it. Everything: quality, motivation. He has to endure, what happens is that sometimes the coach prefers other players "

Since joining the club in 2019, the Belgium international has tried to get going at Los Blancos, but he has endured many injury setbacks, which had him play only 51 games in two seasons.

He contributed just one assists in eight matches for his team. The La Liga giants wanted to cash in on Hazard over the summer to acquire Kylian Mbappe’s signature, according to Goal.
