The Arsenal legend believes the Argentine star should be positioned more centrally in the Parisians’ lineup.
Lionel Messi is struggling to find his rhythm at PSG. Despite delivering two impressive performances against Manchester City and RB Leipzig in the Champions League, the former Barcelona star has not been able to find his best form at the French club.
Having featured in four league games for PSG, Messi is yet to register his first goal or assist in Ligue 1. The Argentine spent a quiet night on Sunday when his side were held to a goalless draw against Marseille in Le Classique.
Thierry Henry believes there is a tactical problem with Messi’s positioning in the PSG lineup.
"He [Messi] is isolated, he is on the ball less,"
Messi’s former teammate told
"I wouldn't say he's sad, but he's isolated. I prefer him through the middle.
"I'm having trouble with Leo out on the right. In the middle, he can set the tempo.
"Something needs to be found in order to get Mbappe, Neymar and Messi to play together."
"I don't think he can make the difference on the right, but then I don't have the exact details from the tactical standpoint.
"Obviously when you stay high up and you get out of the way, you won't have an impact. Then you have fewer balls going towards him."
PSG will face Lille in their next league game on Friday, before hosting RB Leipzig in a Champions League match on November 3.
