Ronald Koeman’s car after the game, but the result is not the only blow the Blaugrana has to deal with.

The club announced on Monday that Frenkie de Jong has suffered an injury during the game, which will sideline him for the time being.

“The first team player Frenkie de Jong has a hamstring strain in his right thigh. The midfielder is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return.”

the statement reads.

De Jong is expected to miss Barcelona’s upcoming game against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday as he undergoes further tests to determine the extent of his injury.

The absence of De Jong will cause new problems for Koeman, who is already dealing with the injuries of Ousmane Dembele, Martin Braithwaite, Pedri, and Ronald Araujo in his squad.

Following their mid-week game against Rayo Vallecano, the Catalan side will face Alaves in their next league game on October 30.
