I have to decide between Zlatan & Giroud - Pioli

Fri 22 October 2021 | 13:40

The Swedish star is ready to play in Serie A for the first time this season.

AC Milan

boss Stefano Pioli has claimed that he has not yet decided which of

Olivier Giroud

and

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

will play against Bologna.

The Rossoneri will face Bologna in Serie A after losing to

Porto

in the Champions League. They have performed well in this league and are currently second in the table. Zlatan Ibrahimovic played for minutes for the first time this season in the previous game against Porto after recovering from injury, and Pioli is unsure which striker to use against Bologna.

"Bologna have changed their style, we will face an opponent with good qualities,”

Pioli told reporters.

“It will be a tough game, now we must think about the next three Serie A games, then we’ll focus again on the Champions League.

“It’s not a difficult moment, the season is long and it’s normal to go through these times, I have a competitive team and we are ready for tomorrow.”

“Ibrahimovic needs to train and play,”

Pioli added.

“He’s been training with the group for a week, but I still have to decide who will start between him and Giroud. I will decide the line-up tomorrow morning. Right now, we can’t play with two strikers. When they feel well, they could play together,” said Pioli.

“[Pietro] Pellegri had a slight problem and he will be out of action, Kessié has had flu and he is not available too.”
