Bayern Munich’s Nagelsmann test positive for Covid-19
The Bayern Munich head coach’s Covid-19 test has turned out positive after their victory over Benfica in the Champions League Group E on Wednesday.
Despite travelling to Lisbon with
Bayern Munich,
Julian Nagelsmann
was not in the touchline as he came down with something like flu, according to the club.
Bayern, however, revealed on Thursday morning that the head coach is dealing with Covid-19 notwithstanding being fully vaccinated.
He will go back to Bavaria in a ‘medical plane’ and self-isolate himself.
In a tweet, the club wrote:
"Julian Nagelsmann has tested positive for Coronavirus despite being fully vaccinated. He will fly back to Munich separately from the team in a medical plane and isolate back there."
Being fully vaccinated doesn’t conclude not getting affected but the symptoms are way less severe in most cases.
Bayern won the clash against
Benfica4-0, with
Leroy Sane
scoring the opener for his side in the 70th minute, before an own goal and then
Robert Lewandowski
made their lead 3-0. Sane scored his brace in the 84th minute for his side to win the game 4-0.
Bayern are leading Group E with four points clear on top.
