The Bayern Munich striker has scored seven goals in seven games in Bundesliga this season and Julian Nagelsmann is confident the talisman can be a force in the future.

Julian Nagelsmann

has warned defenses in Europe by insisting that

Robert Lewandowski

’s time at the top level is yet to be over, thinking that he has to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

Despite turning 33 in August, he is still impressing at the club and international level.

He met the back of the net 41 times in Bundesliga in the 2020-21 season, with a rate of one every 60.07 minutes, which is the fastest across the campaign.

After not winning the award last year, when it was canceled due to the pandemic, no one doubts Lewandowski is a serious contender this time around.

Bayern

won the

Bundesliga

title last season and carried off their ninth, with the Poland international pulling off great performances.

"

He deserves the Ballon d'Or – and in my opinion he has to win the award, because he has played more consistently than anyone else over the past three years,"

Bayern head coach Nagelsmann said.

In an interview with Munich newspaper Abendzeitung, the coach insisted that the Polish will keep impressing at the highest level in his late thirties.

"

If Robert Lewandowski's body stays like this, it is far from over,"

said Nagelsmann.

"He is extremely dynamic, has no injuries, he can train a lot: I definitely trust him to play at the top, top level for a few more years – also because he aligns everything in his life accordingly, to be in the best physical condition."

Meanwhile, Nagelsmann sits tight when the future of Niklas Sule comes up as his deal is due to expire when the season ends.

Chelsea and Newcastle United have been eyeing Sule and Nagelsmann is not certain what will be the Germany international’s future.

"

It depends on his development and also on the market situation whether he wants to extend the contract or not,"

Nagelsmann said.

"Then we'll see if it works for both sides.

"Niki still has to develop a little with his potential and then make the most of it as a very good central defender."
