scored one of the most famous Premier League goals against

Liverpool

in 2013-14 season, where after the famous slip of Liverpool’s Captain Steven Gerrard, the Senegalese striker cleared himself off of Gerrard, sprinted towards the goal and stuck the ball to the back of the net, consequently taking away the league title from the Reds and handing it to Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City.

In an interview with

The Athletic

, the 36-year-old has spoken about his unforgettable Anfield goal and Mourinho’s encouraging speech before the decisive match.

"I remember Jose saying: 'They think we’re a Mickey Mouse team! But we will show them!' And we went out fighting,"

Ba said.

"I was up against Martin Skrtel and Mama and I played an unbelievable game."

He added:

"I only realized how big a deal that was a couple of years later, when people still talked about it.

"They still talk about it! It was traumatic for them. But we didn't enjoy the fact that we killed their dream, we simply enjoyed winning."
