Barcelona trying to keep Gavi with release clause raising

Sun 10 October 2021 | 15:41

The Blaugrana are trying to keep their young star.

Barcelona

are ready to increase the termination clause of Gavi from 50 million euros, and they believe that the 17-year-old star can follow the path of Ansu Fati and Pedri.

Gavi became the youngest player in Spain history to play for the national team, having played only seven games for his club. With his recent performance, he has attracted a lot of attention and Barca knows that rivals can sign him by activating the termination clause.

Rafa Yuste, Barcelona's vice-president told

Mundo Deportivo

:

“I wish we could have these concerns every day, as this would mean that the product we make at La Masia is of incalculable wealth.

“I was very happy for Gavi, he has an inappropriate maturity for his age, instead of 17 he seems to be 37.

"We are going to give him this security so that he sees that Barca has to be his home for many years.”

The vice-president of Barcelona also said about the extension of the contract of Ansu Fati and Pedri:

“With Pedri you can be moderately optimistic and with Ansu too. Hopefully we can announce the two renewals soon.”

He added on Dembele's situation:

“It is a case that we are working on so that it becomes a reality as soon as possible.

“I see him very excited about Barca, I was with him the other day, he really wants to play a role that I think has to be very decisive due to the imbalance he has. He is very excited about this new project.”
