Eto’o was sure Inter would win the Champions League
The Cameroon international legend admitted that he demanded a Champions League bonus in his contract with the Nerazzurri, as he was ‘certain we’d win it’ within two years of joining the club.

’o had made a move to Barcelona in 2009 and contributed to the Treble under the reign of Jose Mourinho in 2010.
“
When I signed the contract, there was a difference in the wage demands and offer, so I asked to put in a Champions League bonus, because I was certain we’d win it within two years,”
Eto’o told reporters at the
Festival dello Sport
event.
“We had a team of real fighters and good people, a coach who understood both us and our fans. We were also fortunate in the game against Barcelona, but it arrived after we battled for the entire season.”
Simone Inzaghi is in charge of Inter now, after Antonio Conte delivered the Serie A title in the 2020-21 season.

I hope Inter win the Scudetto again this term. They have the team to compete and win, but need to fight for it,”
added Eto’o.
