The Ajax goalkeeper is set to become the Nerazzurri’s next number one.

Andre Onana, who is currently out of action due to a doping ban, is set to continue his career at Inter. The Cameroonian goalkeeper is under contract at Ajax until June 2022, but he is unlikely to renew his contract at the Dutch club.

According to Sky Sport Italia journalist

Fabrizio Romano

, the 25-year-old has already agreed to personal terms with the Serie A champions over a free transfer next summer.

Onana, whose doping ban will end in November, was also linked with moves to Nice and Lyon. However, he has been persuaded by Inter’s project of becoming their next number one after Samir Handanovic. The 37-year-old captain continues to impress at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, convincing Inter to postpone their plans for a new goalkeeper for another year.

Having moved to Ajax from Barcelona’s academy ranks in 2015, Onana has kept a clean sheet in 83 of his 204 appearances for the Dutch club.
