Brazilian legend has talked about illness ahead of his birthday.

, who had recently undergone heavy surgery to remove a tumor from his colon, has been released from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home and has thanked all his fans from around the world for their love and support, saying that he has been celebrating his life more after the experience he had through his Illness.

He has also thanked the doctors and staff at the hospitals for their help through his time at the Albert Einstein Hospital after leaving there on Thursday.

"When the path is difficult, celebrate each step of the journey. Focus on your happiness,"

Pele wrote in an Instagram post

"It's true that I can't jump anymore, but these past few days, I've been punching the air more times than usual. I am so happy to be back at home.

"I want to thank the entire Albert Einstein Hospital team, who made my stay a pleasant one, with a humane and very affectionate welcome.

"Thanks also to all of you, who from afar, make my life complete with so many messages of love."

The former Brazil international who will turn 81 in October is his country’s all-time leading goal scorer with 77 goals in 92 appearances and has a big part in Brazil’s history in the football world.
