Manchester City boss was not happy with his side’s performance against Southampton.

Manchester City

faced

Southampton

in a home game in the Premier League, and their boss is not happy with his men as they failed to score, and the match ended in a goalless draw.

Pep Guardiola

says that the Citizens weren’t good enough to defeat their opponent.

Manchester City players only created one scoring opportunity, and their boss admits that they didn’t have a good day at Etihad Stadium.

He told Sky Sports:

"We drew a game against a good opponent that defended really well. They have very good players in the middle like [Oriol] Romeu, one of the best midfield players in the Premier League.

"It was a tight game, we were not comfortable in our build-up and lost more balls than usual and we created a feeling that was not good, that's why we struggled.

"Every game is completely different. all the time when you play Champions League, the game after is difficult, especially with this opponent.

"We didn't have this pace, calm and precision with the ball like we normally have and that's why we struggled."

The Citizens were expected to show a better performance after their big victory in the Champions League, although some would say that the VAR decisions had an impact on the game’s result, although Guardiola doesn’t have any specific opinions on the matter.

"I didn't watch both, not even now in the locker room. The penalty was maybe disallowed because it was not a penalty and the goal because it's no goal."

the Spaniard said.
