The Foxes took the lead in the first half through Ayoze Perez with a fine finish from close range. Harvey Barnes doubled the lead with a crisp strike on his left foot.

However, a late brace from Osimhen completed

a comeback for Napoli as the match ended 2-2

 on Thursday.

The late events in the game increased the tensions between the two sets of supporters with Wilfred Ndidi being shown a harsh red card for a second bookable offense in stoppage time. Earlier in the game, Patson Daka had a goal denied due to a marginal offside call.

According to

Leicestershire Live

, A dozen arrests have been made after Napoli and Leicester City fans clashed with police following their 2-2 draw at King Power Stadium.

According to the outlet, Napoli ultras attempted to breach the separation line with both sets of supporters throwing missiles at each other. Meanwhile, the stadium's PA system encouraged fans to "respect your club" and "move away from the segregation line".

However, the order was restored but a heavy police presence remained in the city after the game.

The Leicestershire Police issued the following statement after the final whistle:

"All the excitement for Europe spoilt once again by the minority. CCTV will be viewed and those responsible will be held to account.

"Behaviour by some was a disgrace. Well done and thank you to those who didn't get involved. Twelve arrests so far and counting.”
