Alba and Pedri added to Barcelona's injury crisis

The influential Barca defender and midfielder are likely to miss the team's next match.

Following

Barcelona

's defeat to Bayern Munich last night, Pedri and Jordi Alba were added to the club's injury crisis.

Last night Barcelona hosted Bayern Munichin the first match of the group stage of the Champions League and lost 3-0 with two goals from Lewandowski and one goal by Müller. Ansu Fati, Sergio Aguero, Sergino Dest, Martin Braithwaite and Ousmane Dembele were the Blaugrana's injured players for the game who could not accompany the team and now two more players have been added to the list and will miss their next La Liga match.

Barca's statement reads:

"The first-team player Pedri has a quadriceps muscle injury in his left thigh. The player is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return."

Alba suffered an injury during the game and was substituted by Balde Martinez in the 74th minute.

The statement continued:

"Tests carried out on Wednesday morning on the first-team player Jordi Alba show that he has a hamstring injury in his right thigh.

"The player is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return."

Barca will face Granada in their next match, and the absence of these two influential players will be a severe blow to them.
