Donnarumma after PSG debut: ‘Milan is the past, I am enjoying PSG’

Donnarumma left Milan in June 2020 at the end of his contract and joined PSG as a free agent, and after making his debut for the Parisiens, the Italian goalkeeper claims ‘Milan is the past’ while his full focus is on PSG.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper is one of the stars

 who left for the French capital this summer, along with Sergio Ramos, Lionel Messi, Achraf Hakimi, and Georginio Wijnaldium.

The Italy international had to wait for his debut as he started the first two Ligue 1 games on the bench. However, Gigio Donnarumma made his debut for PSG in their 

4-0 win against Clermont on Saturday

.

 

“The game is always special, it was a great result too,” 

the former Milan star told a post-match interview.

“We prepared for the game well. I thank the fans who gave us incredible support. I am thrilled about my debut because we are a strong team,” he continued.

“Milan is the past, I am enjoying PSG. I am happy here and the team welcomed me well. We try to win as many matches as possible and make fans happy because they give us incredible support.”

 

Earlier, the 22-year-old claimed

 he had to leave Milan to develop as a player, he said: 

"I spent eight years at Milan, it was my home, I experienced wonderful moments there.

"Milan still excites me today, I have great respect for the people who work there and for the fans. But life is made up of choices, we had different ambitions.

"I will always be a fan of Milan. Eight years are not forgotten, but I needed to change to grow, to improve and become the strongest. I felt the need for new spaces, for a new reality.”
