saw Cristiano Ronaldo return to Manchester United after 12 years. Despite being initially linked with a move to Manchester City, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner eventually joined the Red Devils for their new campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Ronaldo is set to make his second debut for Man United in their clash against Newcastle on Saturday, with Paul Pogba being excited to play alongside the former Juventus star.
"It’s always a pleasure to play with the best, it’s a plus for the players to be able to train with a great player. He’s going to raise the level of the team."
Asked about the transfer of his countryman Raphael Varane to Old-Trafford, the 28-year-old responded:
"Raph's arrival is a positive for the club, we have a great relationship, we’ve known each other for a while. I’m happy that he’s with us at Manchester to bring his experience and quality to the table."
Varane made his Manchester United debut in the Red Devils’ 1-0 victory over Wolves, with Solskjaer’s side collecting seven points from their first three matches of the league campaign.
