After missing a penalty in the final match against

Italy

,

Bukayo Saka

was subjected to racial abuse, but the fans tried to show their support in

England’s

recent clash in the World Cup qualifiers where he scored his side’s last goal in their 4-0 victory over Andorra.

The supporters chanted the player who was playing for his national team on his 20th birthday, and he said that it was the best birthday present for him to receive so much love and support from the national team supporters.

"It was the perfect birthday present for me,"

Saka told ITV

.

"I am really happy with the reception everyone gave me. It really shows how proud they are of me and I think that meant a lot for me and it made me want to give my all.

"It really made a difference. Even now, I can hear so many fans chanting my name. It means everything. It makes me believe that everyone supports me through different things.

"This is what I dreamed about. Playing at Wembley in front of a full crowd and my family, scoring on my 20th birthday. I am really happy."

Saka not only scored in his first game in Wembley after the defeat in the Euro 2020 final, but he also showed an impressive performance that England’s head coach

Gareth Southgate

hopes to be a closure to the stories of Euro 2020 for the 20-year-old England international.

"He got a fabulous reception, before the game, during the game,"

the England manager told ITV

.

"You can see how popular he is with the rest of the team as well.

"I hope it is closure but I don't think there's a player in that dressing room who doesn't think positively about what he did all summer."
