Antonio Conte’s agent dismisses agreement with Arsenal

Sun 05 September 2021 | 18:31

Antonio Conte’s agent Federico Pastorello has rubbished reports claiming his client had a pre-contract agreement with Arsenal.

The former

Inter

manager has been a free agent since terminating his contract with the Serie A champions by mutual consent.

The Italian coach departed the Serie A champions after falling out the club’s financial constraints that were imposed by the owners.

There was a clause in the termination preventing him from taking over another club in Italy during this season, but he was allowed to work abroad.

There are suggestions in British media that the Italian could be a candidate to take over at the Emirates if the Gunners decide to part ways with Mikel Arteta.

However, agent Pastorello told reporter Freddie Paxton that the rumors are

“absolutely not true.”

He also said there had been no formal approach towards Conte from the Premier League side.

The 52-year-old was in charge of

Chelsea

between 2016/18 and won a Premier League title and an FA Cup.
