Massimiliano Allegri

has explained why the Portugal international will not be in the squad against Empoli tomorrow as he has informed the club that he has no intention of staying at the Allianz Stadium.

“Speaking with Ronaldo, yesterday Cristiano told me he has no intention of continuing with Juventus,”

Allegri said at a press conference.

“This is why he will not be called up tomorrow, he didn’t train yesterday and now we can talk about Empoli.”

Newly promoted Empoli will face Juventus after a 3-1 loss against Lazio in the first round of fixtures and the coach expects another tough game as the Bianconeri are looking for their first win in Serie A 2021-2022.

“That’s the most important thing, in Udine we didn’t win a match that was well channeled. Tomorrow we have to win against a lively, quick team that plays good football.

“You need the right match to score three points.”

The Bianconeri striker is leaving Juventus after three seasons during which he has been able to score 101 goals.
