Belgium manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed Kevin De Bruyne will not be able to feature in Manchester City’s clash with Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.
The Premier League defending champions will faceArsenal
at the Etihad on Saturday but they will not have
Kevin De Bruyne
as the Belgian is still struggling with an ankle injury.
The 30-year-old started from the bench in the Citizens' 1-0 opening-day defeat toTottenham
but was not present on the bench in their 5-0 win overNorwich City
Martinez has told reporters that the 30-year-old will not appear for City on Saturday.
Speaking about De Bruyne's availability going forwards,
: 'Kevin is not available [for Manchester's clash with Arsenal].
'As you know he had some minutes against Tottenham. But after that game he still felt some pain [in the ankle].
'He's taking a different route now. He's not gonna be playing this weekend. The idea is to see how his injury progresses.
'It's only right that we work together for the well-being of the player. Kevin is working really hard behind the scenes to get fully fit and to be ready for a demanding season.
At the moment he's not 100 percent fit.'
Guardiola will not have
at his disposal as he is recovering from injury.
