Abraham to complete medical ahead of €40 million move to Roma
The Chelsea striker is on the verge of completing a move to the Stadio Olimpico.
is heavily linked with a move to Roma ahead of the next season. Following the
transferof Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea, Abraham is reportedly keen to avoid being left off the Blues’ lineup.
According to
Goal.com, Abraham will undergo a medical at Roma on Sunday. The English striker is set to join the Serie A side on a €40 million deal, which is expected to run until 2026. The deal also includes an €80m buy-back clause that can be activated after two seasons.
Abraham saw his playing time dwindling after the arrival of Timo Werner last season. The transfer of Lukaku might further limit Abraham’s game time ahead of the next season, providing enough reasons for the England international to accept a move away from Stamford Bridge. The 23-year-old featured in 22 matches for the Blues last season, scoring six goals and providing two assists.
Upon his arrival at Roma, Abraham will replace Edin Dzeko, who
left the Giallorossi to join Interearlier this week. Roma will play their opening match of the 2021-22 season against Fiorentina on Sunday.
