Sevilla have yet to receive an offer for Jules Kounde - Monchi

The Sevilla chief revealed that despite “many clubs asking” about the defender, none of them made an official offer for his transfer.

Sevilla

sporting director

Monchi

revealed that they have yet to receive an offer for

Jules Kounde

, who has been linked with a move to

Chelsea

.

As per reports from

Goal

, Chelsea started negotiating with Sevilla over a transfer for the centre-back, who proved to be among the top players in La Liga since joining the club in 2019.

Real Madrid have also been interested in acquiring the 22-year-old, but Sevilla are asking for €80 million (£68m/$94m) and Monchi insisted that no offers have been made.

When asked about the Blues’ interest in Kounde, Monchi said:

“Many clubs have asked for Kounde. There’s interest, but no official bid on the table

.

"To this day there has been no specific offer for him. I don’t know what’s going to happen. If an important bid arrives, we’ll sell, as this is our policy to improve the team."

Pressed about whether the Frenchman will stay at Sevilla for the next season, he added:

"The Sevilla player wants to know what will happen.

"I don't know. But if there is no offer we believe we can reinvest, he will continue with us. His physical condition is very good."

Chelsea were eyeing Kounde as an extra cover and wanted to include

Kurt Zouma

in the deal but the La Liga side made it clear that they only accept a buy deal.

Chelsea are still thinking about offloading Zouma and are keen on sending Trevoh Chalobah on a loan spell at Valencia.

The France international is qualified enough to fight for a regular spot at Stamford Bridge.

Sevilla ended the 2020-21 La Liga season sitting in the top four on the table.
