Zapata leads Inter wishlist trio if Lukaku leaves

Lukaku has told Inter Milan he intends to return to Stamford Bridge, where he will receive a salary of € 12 million a year plus bonuses. Two clubs are yet to reach an agreement as Inter will not accept an offer of fewer than 130 million euros.

According to

, in the case of Romelu Lukaku’s departure to Chelsea, Inter are expected to go for Denzel Dumfries, Duvan Zapata, and Gianluca Scamacca, but there are cheaper alternatives too.

For inside discussions, directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio had a conference call with Inter President Steven Zhang today, where they warned the chairman if Lukaku leaves, then the fans will revolt if they don’t bring in at least three new signings.

It’s been reported earlier that

Inter directors are also potentially threatening to resign at the end of the transfer window if the promises of investment are not kept.

In addition to Zapata, Arsenal are interested in Inter’s Lautaro Martinez. They have made their first offer that included a player exchange that would see Hector Bellerin and Alexandre Lacazette join the Serie A champions, as per reports from journalist Pete O’Rourke on the Football Terrace podcast.

However, it also reported that

the Nerazzurri will only accept £65m and are not interested in either of those players. Martinez met the back of the net 17 times and contributed to Inter’s Scudetto win. Whether Arsenal would meet Inter’s requirements is remained to be seen as they have already spent £50m on Brighton defender White.
