after experiencing two back-to-back bronze medals in the previous games.

Sweden took the lead in the 34th minute of the game when Stina Blackstenius found the net just for the Canadians to find the determination to take control of the game and raise their pressure on the opponents until Jessie Fleming leveled the game in the 67th minute of the game from the penalty spot.

The game ended in a draw in the fulltime, and in the penalty shootouts, Canada reached the gold medal after goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé denied Jonna Andersson's attempt, and Julia Grosso scored the winner to end it.
