Agent insists ‘there is no pressure’ on Eriksen’s return by Inter

The Denmark captain was collapsed due to a stroke during his side's Euro 2020 opener against Finland on June 12. The Denmark international was pulled off the ground on a stretcher and then was taken to hospital.

It’s been revealed yesterday

that the Dane had a conversation with his

teammates and was optimistic he would return to football once his heart implant is removed.

However, the Denmark international’s agent,

, has denied the report, saying there isn’t a clear program regarding the player’s return to action. He told

: “I personally have never heard him say this. Inter were happy to see that Christian was in good shape.

“Like everyone else in that situation, Christian just wants to be in the best possible shape as the father, husband, son, brother and friend he can be.

“There is no schedule, no pressure. Nothing.”

Eriksen suffered a heart attack during the Finland match

and received emergency treatment on the field, and then he was taken to the hospital.

Referee Anthony Taylor immediately blew his whistle and brought proceedings to a halt. Denmark and Finland immediately called for the medical staff, who raced onto the pitch to administer treatment.

The Dane had to undergo surgery to implant a heart defibrillator a few days later, but he won’t be allowed to play in Serie A again unless the device is removed.

“He will now follow the recovery programme put forward by Danish doctors in Copenhagen, who will also co-ordinate the clinical follow-up,” Inter said in an official statement yesterday.
