The Serie A champions confirmed that the 29-year-old is going to continue his recovery programme "put forward by Danish doctors in Copenhagen, who will also co-ordinate the clinical follow-up."

The Nerazzurri added that they will inform their medical team of Eriksen’s progress.

The midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 clash against Finland. He was taken to the hospital, where he had to be fitted with a defibrillator (ICD).

It is yet uncertain whether the Denmark international will continue his career in Serie A and if he does, he has to be sidelined for at least six months.

Denmark were eliminated from the tournament in the semi-finals, as England beat them in extra-time.

Eriksen joined Inter in 2020 from Tottenham and contributed to the Serie A victory last season. He had also played in north London for seven years, playing in 300 matches.
