The physical condition of the Danish star will play a decisive role in his future.

Inter Milan

star Christian Eriksen will meet with the club next week to decide on his future.

The 29-year-old midfielder is still recovering from a heart attack he suffered during Euro 2020. He underwent surgery and an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) was implanted in his body. He recovered from his problem and was discharged from his hospital in Copenhagen.

Sky claims that the next step for Christian Eriksen is to travel to Milan and check the situation with the club. He will undergo severe medical tests, but the bigger question is whether he intends to continue playing football. Even if medical tests do not show a particular problem, Eriksen will be out of action for at least 6 months.

Another problem is that the Italian Football Federation opposes having a defibrillator in his body. In fact, Italian law prohibits players from playing with this device on their body.

Francesco Braconaro, technical scientific committee member said:

“Christian Eriksen cannot be given the all-clear to play in Italy. If the player has the defibrillator removed, therefore confirming the pathology can be resolved, then he can return to play for Inter.”

It remains to be seen how the club will play next week with Eriksen and what the player will be like.
