Poland’s first medal in the Tokyo Olympics was gained in rowing.

Polish women win the rowing silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics as their first medal in the tournament on Wednesday.

Agnieszka Kobus-Zawojska, Marta Wieliczko, Maria Sajdak, and Katarzyna Zillmann won Poland’s first medal at Tokyo Olympics in quadruple sculls, defeating Australia and finishing behind China to show their progress over the last ten years as they stood in eighth place in the 2012 London Olympics and then a bronze medal in Rio four years later, but the most important thing is the fact that it was Poland’s first medal in the Tokyo Olympics helping their other players gain the confidence to fight their way to the next medals.
