Crystal Palace sign Joachim Andersen from Lyon

Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Danish defender Joachim Andersen from Lyon on a five-year deal.

Andersen

is Palace’s fourth signing this summer following the arrivals of midfielder

Michael Olise

"The management of the club and Patrick Vieira have given me very strong assurance that they know my qualities, they believe in me and want me to play an important role in the team.

"I have a very positive impression of Patrick from the conversations I have had with him, and I have heard nothing but great things about the manager, the club and its plans for the future."

Andersen had arrived in

Lyon

from

Sampdoria

in 2019 and played one full season with Les Gones before moving to

Fulham

 on loan last season, and also took part in Denmark’s Euro 2020 campaign this summer which saw the country reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
