Inter’s plan to cut wages

The Nerazzurri director revealed that he planned to cut the squad’s cost by 20%, which doesn’t seem to be as difficult as one may think.

Inter

cashed in on

Achraf Hakimi

and send him to

Paris Saint-Germain

on a €70m transfer fee. More players may be sold as the Serie A champions want to balance the books.

Inter director

Alessandro Antonello

and

Beppe Marotta

have talked about the problem with the wages several times.

Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen earn about €7.5m per season, which makes them the biggest earners. After them, Alexis Sanchez earns €7m, Arturo Vidal €6.5m, Hakan Calhanoglu and Ivan Perisic €5m.

They have been able to cut €24m per season off the bill by cashing in on Hakimi (€5m), Antonio Candreva (€3m), Ashley Young (€3m), Matteo Politano (€1.6m), Dalbert (€1.2m), Daniele Padelli (€0.5m), Sebastiano Esposito (€0.1m) and Zinho Vanheusden (€0.1m).

Inter are trying to sell Radja Nainggolan (€4.5m) and Valentino Lazaro (€1.5m) to Cagliari and Benfica.

They are open to selling Vidal, but reports claim that Inter may terminate his contract by mutual consent, which would cut another €6.5m.
